MISSION FOR NATURE ONE

Since 1995, NATURE ONE has been held in the breathtaking landscape of the Hunsrück – a place we proudly call NatureOne-Land.

Each year, up to 65,000 visitors come together at NATURE ONE, united by a shared passion for electronic music and a commitment to a peaceful, respectful community.

We strive to protect our environment and minimize our ecological footprint. Our goal is to inspire all attendees to increase their environmental awareness and adopt sustainable behaviors—both during the festival and beyond.

NATURE ONE has the potential to create a positive impact on everyone involved. Our mission is to set an example in sustainable event management, focusing on waste reduction, eco-friendly mobility, resource-efficient production, and mindful coexistence.

  • DEPOSIT SYSTEM: Beverage containers are provided with a deposit system. Only reusable cups are used. Cans and PET bottles are collected and returned to the recycling cycle after use.

WASTE DEPOSIT: In the CampingVillage, a waste deposit of €10 is charged. This ensures that waste is collected and disposed of at designated stations. A professional waste management service sorts the waste, making sure that recyclable materials, even from mixed waste, are properly returned to the recycling cycle.

DISHWARE: In the crew catering area, no disposable dishes or cutlery are used, reducing plastic waste. Food stands are encouraged to minimize packaging or avoid it altogether.

PAPER: Many processes have been digitized, eliminating the need to print booklets or paper party guides. All important festival information is available digitally via the website and the official app.

CASHLESS: With our cashless system, all food and non-food stands accept contactless payments, eliminating the need to produce millions of paper receipts.

TENTS: We offer pre-setup tents (including equipment like sleeping mats) that can be booked in advance. These tents are reused at various festivals, helping reduce waste. Additionally, with lighter luggage, visitors are encouraged to use public transportation.

GENERAL: We encourage all festival-goers to be mindful of waste when planning their visit. This means avoiding single-use items such as disposable plastics, single-use grills, etc. The rule is simple: “Leave no trace!”

  • ARRIVAL BY TRAIN OR PUBLIC TRANSPORT: A shuttle bus line operates from Koblenz Central Station (HBF) to and from the festival grounds. Numerous buses cover the 50 km route non-stop from Thursday to Sunday, making it easy to arrive by train. If you have the Deutschlandticket ("58-Euro-Ticket"), you won’t need an additional train ticket

ARRIVAL BY PARTY BUS: Organized party buses travel to NATURE ONE from all over Germany, turning your journey into an experience while being environmentally friendly.

SHUTTLE BUSES TO KASTELLAUN: To shop at supermarkets, discount stores, or drugstores in Kastellaun, you can leave your car at the CampingVillage. On Friday and Saturday, free shuttle buses run regularly between the town and the festival grounds.

CARPOOLING: Carpool groups are organized through the app, as well as on Facebook and WhatsApp. Carpooling is not only eco-friendly but also makes the journey more fun.

DROP-OFF & PICK-UP: At the officially designated drop-off & pick-up parking area, visitors can be dropped off and picked up. Vehicles are often filled to capacity, reducing the CO₂ emissions per guest compared to traveling alone.

  • ENERGY: We aim to use energy-saving technologies wherever possible, such as LED lighting. Parts of the festival grounds are connected to the local power grid, allowing us to reduce reliance on external generators.

PORTABLE TOILETS: Our portable toilets are chemical-free, as the short usage period makes chemicals unnecessary. This means no chemicals, no water flushing—making them the most sustainable toilets in the world.

LOCAL SOURCING: Whenever possible, we hire local companies from the region around the festival. This helps minimize transport emissions by reducing travel distances.

STANDARD MATERIALS: We focus on using standard materials that can be reused for different events over long periods. Banners and signage are either produced in a generic format or reused for multiple years.

  • The vegetation around the CampingVillage and festival grounds is vital to the ecosystem—it cleans the air, provides shade, and offers a habitat and food for wildlife.

All attendees are encouraged to treat the environment and animals with care and respect.

After NATURE ONE, we carry out a thorough cleanup of all used areas, including paths, forests, and open spaces. Our goal is to leave everything in better condition than we found it.

  • At NATURE ONE, we aim to create a safe space where everyone can be themselves and fully enjoy the moment. We value, respect, and protect people of all sexual orientations, gender identities, religions, ages, and ethnicities.

We all share a collective responsibility. If you witness or experience inappropriate behavior, feel unsafe, or notice someone being harassed, help each other or immediately contact our staff, security, police, or medical team.

Let’s take care of each other.

  • For over 10 years, we’ve partnered with the non-profit organization Viva con Agua from Hamburg-St. Pauli. This global network advocates for safe access to clean drinking water and basic sanitation in many developing countries. With the support of NATURE ONE and its attendees, initiatives such as the construction of wells in Uganda have become a reality.
